NAMHSA member show!

ALL SIZES of models are welcome! The "mini" in the title comes from the fact that this is a smaller show, performance only,
and not because only smaller scale models may be shown. I apologize for any confusion over that!

HALLOWEEN THEME! Let's see those cute Fall & Halloween props!

Class Rules

1. Class Limit: THREE entries per entrant per performance class. You must be able to complete all setups within the time limit.

2. Time Limits: A maximum of 10 (TEN) minutes will be permitted for each class setup; the judge will start working as soon as each entry is reasonably complete, and may begin if one or two entrants are still working. With the extensive class list, entrants are encouraged to plan ahead and to be prompt!

3. Explanation cards are encouraged in all performance classes and required as listed below.

4. NO SETUPS (footing, backdrop, props not necessary to the entry’s performance, dolls other than riders/handlers) permitted in English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, or Saddleseat classes. Other performance classes that need props and setups should be set up as usual. There’s no set limit on the size, but it is recommended to try and keep your setup within a 2ft X 2ft area if possible.

5. HARNESS: Appropriate harness for breed/class required. Vehicle not required. Please do not enter “scenes” in harness classes; these go in the appropriate scene class.
**Light Harness and Heavy Harness classes are for show ring pleasure or formal/park classes and “pleasure” on the road.
**Harness Parade is for all harness entries in a parade setting, either single or hitch.
**Other Harness Performance is for other than pleasure or formal/park driving, such as marathon, obstacle driving, etc.
Explanation card required.

6. COSTUME: Costume must be appropriate for the breed. Props must be related to the costume (e.g., the other two musketeers, the buffalo for a Native American hunting costume, etc.). Documentation/explanation card is encouraged.

7. HUNTER/JUMPER/CROSS COUNTRY: Must include correct obstacle and appropriate flags, etc.

8. DRESSAGE: Must include identification of level and movement. Explanation card required.

9.  CUTTING/STOCK WORK: Livestock required.

10. ROPING: Livestock required.

11. GYMKHANA/PLAYDAY: At least ONE barrel for barrel racing and TWO poles for pole bending are required. Other props needed as appropriate for the class. Explanation card required.

12. TRAIL: Arena or natural trail obstacle required.

13. OTHER PERFORMANCE: Explanation card required.

JUDGES: Allison Mueller & Sue Stewart

ENTRY FEE: $25.00 per person. The number of tables for entrants will be limited to 25. Entrants may share a table if they wish, but once all the tables are full, then I cannot accept any more entries so you should probably enter as soon as you can. J Once we get done with the show, I’ll need a few people to help me clean up and put the room back the way it needs to be for Sunday morning. Thanks!

AWARDS: Placings to 10th, regular flats and nice paper ribbons, and special yummy prizes for the Champs/Reserves!

RAFFLE: Several people have donated items to be raffled to benefit the show.

DOOR PRIZES: Each entrant will receive a Halloween goodie bag!

LUNCH: We will be having sandwich trays so you can build your own sandwich. Cost for lunch is $5.00 per person. You may also bring your own lunch if you wish. Iced tea will be included. Please let me know what kind of meat and cheese you like! We will take about 30 minutes for lunch and then get back to judging. NEW! Please bring a dessert with you to share, if you can!

DIRECTIONS: CLICK HERE TO GET A PDF MAP - PLEASE NOTE THAT THEY MISPELLED WELSH AS WELCH!

Coming in on Highway 6 (a.k.a. Earl Rudder Freeway) from either the north (Waco/Hearne) or south (Houston/Navasota), you will take the Emerald Parkway/Harvey Mitchell Parkway (also known as FM 2818) exit. From the north, you will take the exit ramp and turn right at the stop sign. From the south, you will take the exit ramp and turn left under the underpass. Both will then come down to the light at Texas Avenue. After the stop light, continue straight until you get to the 3rd stop light at Welsh Avenue. (There is a large white stone sign on the corner of the church property; this is a tree-filled lot. The church is next to it. There is an Exxon station on one corner and A&M Consolidated High School is on the opposite corner.) Turn LEFT on Welsh Avenue and come down about a block and turn right into the church parking lot.

Coming in on Highway 21 (Austin/Caldwell) from the west, you will turn right onto FM 2818. You will continue on FM 2818 (Harvey Mitchell Parkway) and pass 7 stop lights and cross over the railroad tracks, and pass one more stop light (#8) right after the tracks and cross Wellborn Road. Continue straight until the next stop light (#9), which is Welsh Avenue. (There is a large white stone sign on the corner of the church property; this is a tree-filled lot. The church is next to it. There is an Exxon station on one corner and A&M Consolidated High School is on the opposite corner.) Turn RIGHT at Welsh Avenue and come down about a block and turn right into the church parking lot.

NOTE: If you come in on Highway 60 from Brenham/Somerville, then you will also be turning right onto FM 2818 (Harvey Mitchell Parkway), but you will only pass 3 lights before the railroad track and the 4th light at Wellborn road, then the 5th light will be Welsh Avenue (by the Exxon station). Turn left at Welsh Avenue and come down about a block and turn right into the church parking lot.

When you get to where the church driveway divides, take the RIGHT drive to Entrance D, and go around to the right side/back of the education building to park. There is a covered walkway leading to the back door. I will put signs out to guide you to the right entrance. You can unload here. If we run out of parking after everyone unloads, you can go back around to the front of the church to park.

Please do not hesitate to call me or email me if you have any questions!

HOTELS & MOTELS

We have a bunch of good hotels in the area. There is the La Quinta on Texas Avenue & the Ramada on Texas Avenue (where folks stayed for my last show), and a ton of others. Almost all of the ones in College Station are good. The only ones I would NOT recommend are the E-Z Travel Inn and the Motel Six because they are old, and I really do not recommend any of the ones that have a Bryan address yet. We are getting a new hotel in Bryan that will be out on the bypass but it is not finished yet.

Anything listed on University Drive in College Station, or on the Earl Rudder Freeway (Hwy 6 bypass) are all pretty new. The 2 closest to the church/show hall are the Quality Suites, (979) 695-9400, 3610 Hwy 6 South, College Station, TX 77840, and the Courtyard-Marriot, (979) 695-8111, 3939 Highway 6 South College Station, TX 77845. Both of these are fairly new. There is also a Howard Johnson Express (979) 693-6810, 3702 Hwy. 6 S.; College Station, TX 77845 that has been completely redone and looks good from the road.

Here is a link on the Bryan-College Station Visitors and Convention Bureau that lists all the hotels & motels:
